The Men’s Lower Grade Championships where held at Belmont on July 20/21. WCMDA fielded 4 teams. Our Division 2 team won the Gold medal. Well done to Brady Southerland(58.87), Killian Gibney(50.31), Brad Kidner(54.93), Mark Brazier(66.21), John Donnelly(65.08), and Andrew Bull (52.23).

Our Division 3 team won the silver medal. Well played Lachlan Hunter(51.16), Tony Story(54.02),Terry Van Eck(51.31), Ray Gittos(47.40), Luke Sach(41.23), Shannon Cooper(44.26), Nathan Robinson(44.32).

Our Division 1 and 4 teams finished 5th in their divisions.

Hayden Southerland hit a fine 153 peg (2nd highest of the Championships) and Lachie Hunter hit a 140 peg. Mark Brazier(66.21) and John Donnelly(65.08) had the 5th and 6th best averages of the Championships. Thanks to all who helped doing the book during the weekend.

The final leg of the Trowbridge / Little Shield between WCMDA and FDDA was played at Kingsway on Saturday 13th July. WCMDA held a slender 12 point advantage going into the 2nd leg having won the first leg 221 points to 209. WCMDA duly won the home leg by a mere 6 points taking it 218 to 212 winning the Shield by a 18 point margin (439 – 421). Highlights were a 161 finish by West Coast’s Steve Palasin.

The WCMDA Singles Comp was played at Olympic Kingsway Sports Club on 11th July 2019.

The first match of the annual Trowbridge / Little Challenge Shield between Fremantle Districts Darts Association and West Coast Mens Dart Association took place on 15th June 2019. It was a competitive day of darts with lots of 180s and high pegs, the highest being a 140 thrown by West Coast’s Mark Brazier. WCMDA just won by 12 games overall, 209 – 221 so all to play for in the return leg on 13th July. Pics in the gallery.

The 2019 WCMDA took place last night at The Olympic Kingsway Sports Club in Madeley. A total of 112 players participated across 4 grades.

The 2019 Harry Ashby Cup was played Sunday 26th May. 3 Clubs were represented, Kingsley entered 3 teams, Nollamara RSL, and West Perth Cardinals. It was a great day of darts, 180s, ton plus pegs and good averages. Kingsley 2 emerged undefeated winning all 4 group games and won the cup for Kingsley for the first time in it’s history.

The Darts WA State Championships took place last weekend (pictures in the Gallery). WCMDA submitted 4 teams, Div 2, 4, 6 and 7. Our Div 6 team went the whole weekend unbeaten and took home the Gold Medal. Our Div 7 team won the Silver Medal. Overall a very successful weekend of darts. Congratulations to all who competed.

The 2019 Men’s Metros Championships were played over the weekend. The WCMDA entered 4 teams, 1 in Div 2, Div 3 and 2 in Div 4. Congratulations to our Div 2 team for winning Gold.

Steve Berecz also got the highest peg 160 followed by Kevin King with a 157.

Our Div 3 team finished 4th and our Div 4 teams finished 3rd and 4th so a solid effort all round.

The annual West Coast Mens Darts Association versus Fremantle Districts Dart Association match 1st leg was played on 23rd June. It was a good close contest and FDDA just pipped WCDMA 205 games to 200. The return leg is due to be played on 21st July at Spearwood Dalmatinac Soccer Club.
